More about Heifer Global Village

The Heifer Global Village is one part of our outdoor education facility. It’s a collection of authentic model houses from many parts of the world. Here you will find African mud huts, a bamboo stilt house, thatch roofs, rain barrels, animal pens, prayer flags, water jugs, hand-painted Mayan tiles, and so much more. It is one of three such villages on the continent; the other two are in Howell, Michigan, and Ontario, Canada.

These dwellings represent impoverished areas around the globe where Heifer International has worked to eradicate hunger, poverty, social injustice, and other issues through gifts of livestock and education. Shepherd's Spring is proud to offer Heifer’s experiential curriculum to thousands of children, teens, and adults each year. Participants young and old often leave brimming with ideas about ways they might make a difference in someone’s life.
